I earned a BA in history from Texas A&M in 2003, and rather than leaving for the east coast and a graduate program in classics and philosophy as I had planned, I allowed my boss to talk me into staying here and pursuing a degree in Humanities Informatics instead.

Although the humanities informatics degree program never materialized, I decided to stay on at Computer Science and pursue a PhD, stacking my degree plan to achieve basically the same result (essentially, this has meant taking almost every CSDL class that's offered).

I'm currently employed by the Digital Initiatives group at the TAMU Libraries. We are responsible maintaining the university's institutional repository, among other things. Our Big Project at the moment is the Texas Digital Library, a joint venture with UT, TTU, and several other schools around the state.
